Gifts

I occasionally (ok, perhaps a little more than occasionally) treat myself to a little crafty online shopping, for myself and as gifts for others too and as my luck in giveaways seems to have improved I also receive some lovely handmade goodies in the post as well.

Today I thought I would share some of the beautiful things which have recently dropped through my letterbox, so to speak and also give you some ‘lovely links’ so you too can go and have a look for yourself!

The first photo shows some delicious yarn which I bought recently from Black Sheep Wools for bunny making.

Block Collage

The maker of these sweet little blocks probably needs no introduction to you as you will have seen her lovely makes here and all over blogland before, she is of course the talented Fee from Chipper Nelly. When I saw that she was making Peter Rabbit blocks for Easter I couldn’t resist, being a huge fan of the naughty little rabbit. You can find Fee’s shop here.

My friend had a birthday recently and as I had bought her a new bag I thought it would be nice for her to have a matching bag charm so I commissioned my lovely blog friend Jane to make her one. I wanted to include the colours in the bag plus as she loves to sew and paint I wanted those represented as well and the gorgeous bag charm above is what Jane came up with. Beautiful, isn’t it. I think I’m correct in saying Jane loves the challenge of a commission, you can find her shop here, she creates wonderful cards too.

DSCN8974

As mentioned above my luck in giveaways has improved somewhat lately and these pretty hairclips are the result of a giveaway by the lovely Anne who has just recently started a blog, you can find more of her beautiful hairclips here. Thank you so much Anne, they are really pretty!

DSCN8893

When I spotted this cute little brooch on Julia Laing’s Facebook page I just had to have it, I really can’t let any green rabbits go past me!!! You can find Julia’s blog here and her shop here.

DSCN8961

Last but not by any stretch of the imagination least is this very beautiful little bunny whose name is Aileen and has been made by the extremely talented Julie of Little Cotton Rabbits. Julie’s bunnies are so highly sought after that you have to enter a draw for the chance to buy them, hundreds and hundreds of people want to own one and guess what I won the draw to buy Aileen, I couldn’t believe my luck!!! She is so pretty, I love her!
Just in my last post I celebrated my 4th bloggiversary and it was through Julie’s little bunnies that I actually got into blogging at all. I followed a link in a magazine when I spotted her bunnies and ended up on her blog, at that time I didn’t even know what a blog was and then one thing led to another and I started blogging myself. Julie’s blog is still one of my very favourite blogs and I always look forward to a post from her and to see her lovely little knitted creatures.

Speaking of my bloggiversary, thank you all so much for your kind words, my goodness so many entries in the giveaway which by the way is still open until Easter Sunday and you can find here if you haven’t already entered it.

I also want to thank all the thoughtful people who have contacted me about the awful weather we have been having and to check if I was ok. Thankfully we got off quite lightly compared to other parts of the province, some actually not overly far from us. We’re in a valley and close to a huge inland lough and I think that has helped protect us from the worst of the weather, we didn’t even lose power like so many other places. So we count ourselves very lucky indeed. My heart goes out to all those people who have been affected and especially to all those poor little stranded animals, who I hope will be rescued soon!

We actually have sunshine today but it is still bitterly cold, so if you don’t actually go outside it does look like spring.

Thank you all so much for dropping by, happy Tuesday! :)

I love it when we reach this day of the year, the Winter Solstice, it’s so hopeful. I know that tomorrow there is going to be a little more daylight than there was today. I know that we probably won’t notice it just yet but the fact that it will happen is just enough to make me happy. Changes are already happening, little flowers are coming out, bulbs are pushing through and I even saw some buds on a tree today, so all wonderfully hopeful!!!

As this is my last post before Christmas I thought we would do a little catching up with what I’ve been up to. I’m still bunny making, this little lady is Misty, it was lovely making the Christmas bunnies but it was nice to move on to less festive ones again.

DSCN8526

I’ve been a very lucky girl again and have won another lovely giveaway, this time from Sally. Thanks to Sally for a very generous parcel of goodies!!!

I have also received some lovely gifts and cards from bloggy friends, I just love the friendship that exists in blogland! Thanks to Simone, Mia, Jane and Gill!!!

DSCN8525

I’ve also given myself a little gift, I’m calling it my salary from Green Rabbit Designs for the year!!! I’m beyond excited about this little baby!

Tree decoration Collage

Lastly just a collection of our tree decorations, some of them almost as old as me and some just new this year, exactly how a collection of Christmas decorations should be, I think.

DSCN8510

So here we are almost at Christmas Day, I think this has been the quickest year ever and certainly December has flown by.
I want to thank all of you lovely people for visiting me here and for leaving all your lovely comments, post after post. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with those you love.

Wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas and all the peace of the season!
I’ll see you all on the other side!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :)

In the past couple of weeks I have been very fortunate in receiving many lovely things including gifts from family and friends, giveaway wins and little gifts to myself!

I received some beautiful gifts from my husband, son and daughter for Mother’s Day and I’d like to thank all three of them very much for being so kind! There were some sweets too but they didn’t make it to the photographs!!!

Recently the postman delivered this gorgeous covered notebook to me, it was a gift from my lovely friend Pam. Pam covered the notebook in a beautiful rabbit print fabric in a colour that is very dear to my heart! Check out Pam’s lovely creations here and here.
Thank you so much Pam, I love it! :)

One day when reading my bloggy friend Jane’s blog, I found she had just listed this beautiful bag charm in her shop and I immediately had to have it. In fact I bought it so quickly Jane actually wondered where it had disappeared to in her listings, I think that maybe she thought she had deleted it when listing it! :)

I enter many blog giveaways and there are so many beautiful items offered by lots of lovely blogs, usually though I’m not lucky enough to win. However when another of my lovely blog friends Mia had a recent giveaway, I was one of the lucky winners and was very fortunate to win this beautiful felted pouch. Isn’t it gorgeous, go have a look here to see Mia’s other lovely creations!
Thank you so much Mia! :)

Mia recently created a sweet little treasury over on Etsy called Run Rabbit Run Rabbit. Now everyone knows my love for these little creatures and when I spotted this pretty little brooch I couldn’t resist and it had to be mine! It was from Silk Purse, Sow’s Ear and they have other rabbity items too (oh dear!!!).

I came by this absolutley gorgeous little block via a giveaway too over on Annie’s blog. Unfortunately though I didn’t win this giveaway but I had to have my block anyway. The prize was to design your own block (colour and word) and then the very, very clever Fee from Chipper Nelly would make it for you. I had chosen a green block with ‘rabbit’ on it for obvious reasons and I contacted Fee and arranged for her to make it for me.

It arrived beautifully wrapped with it’s own pretty little bunny tag! You can find more of Fee’s lovely blocks in her ‘Not on the High Street’ shop and check out her Flickr photosteam for more beauties!

Finally I have to warn you I am now in full Easter mode, I just couldn’t not buy this pretty green glass egg on Saturday, I do love this time of year! ‘C’ seems to go on for about 4 months a year but Easter just goes by in a flash, I want it to go slowly so I can enjoy it all the more!

So as you can see I have been a very lucky girl of late. I have given you lots of links today so why don’t you have a look, maybe spoil yourselves, you know you deserve it! :)

It really is like summertime here today, hope you all are enjoying this sunny springtime Monday.

Have a good week, thanks for stopping by and if you haven’t done so already don’t forget to put your name in the hat for my giveaway! :)

Well I hope like us you all have had a lovely Christmas!

Probably like us you’ve had too many of these!!

I received some beautiful presents, as did everyone in our house, resulting in this ……….

………. huge pile of wrapping paper! You’ll be pleased to know it has all been recycled now!

Boxing Day saw our up-to-that-point quiet Christmas very quickly take a different direction. When our daughter phoned from Paris (the trip was her present from her boyfriend) to announce that they were engaged. They flew out out on Boxing Day afternoon and they return home tomorrow (Thursday) evening, then I’ll be able to get a good look at the ring which I’ve only seen from an iPhone photograph but looks absolutely gorgeous. So I think busy times are ahead!!!

Before I go I just want to let you know that I’m having a little sale over in my shop! There is 15% off everything, just enter ‘WINTERSALE’ at the checkpoint.

I hope you continue to enjoy what’s left of Christmas and 2011.
Thank you all so much for joining me in my little space of blogland during this past year, I hope to ‘see’ you all again in the new year!

I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year!

Here’s to 2012 and the Springtime (whoo hoo)! :)

Indian summer ??? What Indian summer ???
October has started horribly, while the southern UK basks in 30 degrees of sunshine the north west is sodden with a temperature of 14 degrees! :(
My October tree pretty much looks like how I feel, it is so miserable here the flash on my camera came on while photographing outside, that proves how dull and dismal it is.
It has stopped raining at the moment but that is probably because after yesterday’s torrential downpour the clouds are dehydrated! We are promised some more heavy rain later though.

Quite a few leaves have fallen off the tree but they’re not dry and crunchy with that ‘come and walk through me’ look, sadly they’re not at all inviting!

There are some pretty colours though but I have to admit this post is not the one I had hoped for this month.

However falling leaves do provide endless entertainment for a certain three little individuals! That picnic table though was a rather slippery affair this morning and there were a few kittens surfing off the end of it at times!! :)

Not completely colourless though, some pretty roses still blooming albeit dripping wet.

The sweet pea still trying to do it’s thing.

And perhaps a more autumnal photo. So many berries on this little hedge, they say it’s the sign of a hard winter – I can hardly wait!!!

So there you are my autumn garden and you wonder why I’m so reluctant to leave the summer behind!

Just before I go and to brighten this post (and myself) up , I thought I would share some of my new acquisitions with you.

I treated myself to this brilliant mushroom button made by the talented Jenny Arnott, check out Jenny’s shop as she is having a sale at the moment!

I was very lucky to receive this gorgeous bag from my lovely friend Mia to keep my crochet hooks in. Isn’t it great, thanks Mia I love it, you should check out all the other pretty makes in Mia’s shop.

I also received this pretty bag charm from another of my dear bloggy friends, Jane, it has a gardening theme, thank you Jane for such a lovely gift.

In fact I loved Jane’s bag charm so much I called into her shop and bought two more, a sewing one for my daughter and a knitting one for myself! Go have a look, she has more for sale and they are great!

Finally before I leave you can I just say I am having problems leaving comments on Blogspot blogs with the imbedded comment box, I can comment on the ones with the pop-up comment box. I’m not really sure why but if I normally say ‘hello’ to you and you’ve noticed me missing it’s because of this, sorry! I’m not sure at who’s end the problem is or how to fix it.

Anyhow as I reach the end of this post (thank you staying with me and putting up with my moaning) the rain has started again, so if you’re in the UK and enjoying your Indian summer I just want to let you know I’m not at all jealous, I love the rain! ;)

Have a great weekend, wherever you are in the world! :)

A spot of knitting.

Receiving and loving not one but two scented hearts, thanks Emily and Val!

The beginnings of a new raised bed.

Deciding what I’m going to grow in the new bed.

Cooking sweet potato, red onion and goats cheese lasagne for dinner.

Still enjoying spring!!!

There were other things such as tidying up, washing and ironing, cleaning windows, a trip to a builders yard and B&Q but no one wants to see those things, do they!

Have a great week everyone! :)

I hope all you mother’s out there are having a great day!

I have been very spoilt by my family with lots of lovely things but having them all in the one place at the one time is the best bit.
To D, S & L, lots of love to all three of you and thank you so much for all the lovely gifts! xxxxxxx

Happy Mother’s Day ! :)

I have finished the last of my mohair scarves, for now anyway. This one is crocheted in gooseberry green mohair.

I have used a different little motif to the blue and pink mohair scarves. The green scarf is made up of 14 motifs.

Now that all three have been completed, I’m going to add them to my Etsy shop.

I received some more ‘happy mail’ yesterday. The lovely Simone from Linden Grove who won my 100th post giveaway sent me this pretty thank you card and gorgeous bunny gift tags, all handmade by herself!
I’m not going to use the gift tags as gift tags though because that would mean I would have to give them away and I don’t like doing that with bunnies!! They are going to be part of my Easter decorations. Thank you so much Simone, I really love them! :)

I’ll leave you with this little Spring corner of my kitchen, it may well be the only little bit of Spring I get this weekend as we have been forecast snow! Snow!!! :( It was only on Monday past that I was gardening in the sun! I have everything crossed that they have got it wrong. It is raining quite heavily at the minute and it is very cold, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and that it doesn’t snow where you are and thanks for dropping in this week!!! :)

I’m afraid it’s the only way to describe this time between Christmas and New Year in our house as that’s what we mostly seem to do – eat chocolate!!! The photo doesn’t even show it all, there’s the lot that’s already been eaten and my son’s and daughter’s stash isn’t there either! I know we should save some of it because some wet Wednesday around the end of January we will wish we had but it’s very hard when you love chocolate as much as we do!

I wasn’t going to post again until the New Year but Tina’s comment on my last post suggesting that I’d had enough time off (LOL) got me motivated. Thanks Tina! :)

Well I hope you all had a great Christmas, we certainly did, it was a lovely quiet, slow, family Christmas. It was nice just spending time with loved ones. I also got lots of lovely gifts from my family and friends, thank you all so much. I thought today I would show you the rabbit gifts, I’m sure many of my other pressies will make an appearance in future posts from time to time.

Aren’t these little bunnies very cute!! They’re actually a draught excluder but I couldn’t possibly put these gorgeous little creatures in front of a cold door, absolutely not! At present they have taken up residence on my bed and they seem to be quite happy there too. :)

This was another gift, a sweet little rabbit brooch with a very pretty face!

This last little bunny arrived today and a lovely little surprise it was too. It came all the way from Finland from my very kind blogging friend Mia as a thank you for taking part in her Christmas blog. I didn’t need to be thanked as it was a pleasure to be a part of it all but I’m ever so grateful for this pretty little sleepy bunny corsage! Thanks again Mia, it is so appreciated ! :)

So more bunnies for my collection, I really must do a post on my rabbits some time but I think it would take a few posts to cover them all.

Well we have eventually got rid of all the snow, thankfully, and our temperature has risen from -15 deg C to +10 deg C in a week. Twenty-five degrees is quite a jump in the space of seven days. Somehow it doesn’t seem natural but I’m really not complaining as I quite like how it is at the moment! Although many people here are having problems with their water supply since the thaw and are relying on bottled water, we’re very grateful not to be in that position.

This will be my last post for 2010 and I have to say I have really enjoyed my blogging year, lots of new friends have been made and being a part of blogland has been fun. Here’s to another year of blogging fun in 2011 with all you lovely people!
I’ll leave you with my year in pictures!

Happy New Year to you all! :)

Well it’s not the houseplants that are happy, it’s me that’s happy because they’re blooming (well I hope they’re happy too)! :)
I don’t have that many houseplants (7 in total) as I like to do most of my gardening outside. However out of the seven, four of them are in bloom. It’s especially nice to have them at this time of year when things are slow in the garden and apart from my window boxes there is a lack of flowers.
The little rose above bloomed this week and that is the first time in a year there have been any flowers on it, in fact I had given up on it ever blooming again. Very pretty it is too, sitting in my kitchen.

This pair are in bloom at the moment too enjoying the autumn sun streaming through the windows, which thankfully we’re still getting! :)

This little geranium is a very special little plant! It was given to me in church on the day my son was christened, as it was Mother’s Day as well, all the mums were given a little flower. It has been sitting on my windowsill happily blooming from time to time for over 25 years, so you can see why it’s so important to me!

Something else that made me happy this week was this little surprise parcel. It came from the lovely Alison from Alisonb2′s Weblog.

Alison held a giveaway a little time ago and although I didn’t win I still got a gift!! It was so lovely of her to do that, so thanks very much Alison! :) She sent me this paper yarn, something new to me, so I’m looking forward to having a play with it. Thanks again Alison !!

Now on to my own giveaway! Can I just say a big thank you to all of you who stopped by this week and left such lovely comments, you’ve all been very kind. I have to inform you that all the edible stuff in the last post has all been eaten (I’ve just this minute finished another toffee apple) and the knitted apples are becoming a bag and I’ll let you see it when it’s finished!

I have employed the random number generator and although it would not transfer here the way I wanted it too, so I gave up, it has produced a result!

Comment number fifteen was from Pipany from Pipany & the Poltisko Memoirs. So well done Pipany the little corsage and candle are yours! I’ll get it sent off as soon as I have your details.
I have only just recently found Pipany’s blog myself and very lovely it is too, so if you haven’t visited before drop in and see her beautiful creations!

Well folks I’ll leave you with something else that’s making me happy, my lovely dahlias which I purchased today, aren’t they gorgeous!

Have a happy weekend whatever you get up too and I’ll see you next week ! :)
