Giveaways

DSCN9088

It was so beautiful at lunchtime today, sitting out in the garden, sun shining, cats at my feet, washing drying on the line!

DSCN9089

Guess what it’s doing this evening though ~ raining!! There’s no sitting outside, no sun, no cats (they have more sense) and the washing is dripping on the line because I thought it was only going to be a shower and left it!

I suppose that’s April for you, sunshine and showers!

DSCN9091

I’ve been a lucky girl again, when the lovely Emma Varnam held a giveaway on her blog to win a signed copy of her new crochet book Crocheted Keyrings & Charms, I just had to join in and you’ve guessed it, I won. It’s a gorgeous book and it even has a little rabbit bag charm, what more could a bunny lover want!

DSCN9080a

Well I have managed to get at least one of the little cardigans from earlier in the week onto a bunny!

I’d like you all to meet Tawny.

Owl Collage

Tawny is named after a beautiful little owl and she has little owls all over her skirt and her cardie is fastened by one too.

DSCN9083a

Another weekend almost here again, I hope you all have a lovely one and lets hope the weather behaves itself for all of us! Thank you all for your visits and your lovely comments which I always enjoy reading.

Happy weekend! :)

DSCN8950

Goodness what a lot of entries in the giveaway, thank you all so much for entering, thanks too to all those lovely Facebook folk who joined in the fun as well.

WordPress very kindly number all my comments which makes it nice and easy to use the Random Number Generator, there were a few people who left their comments in the reply section of other comments and didn’t get a number but please don’t worry if you did this as I gave you numbers at the end so you didn’t miss out on the draw.

So watched by the independent adjudicator (my husband) I loaded up the Random Number Generator with the 160 entries and pushed the button!

image

Number 55 was the chosen one and that was Gina!

Little Posie will be on her way to Gina today!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to enter it’s just a shame there can only be one winner.

There will of course be more bunnies, unfortunately though I have had to close my waiting list for rabbits for the time being as there are quite a few people on it now. I am going on holidays in the second half of May and when I return it will only be one month to my daughters wedding, so June will be very busy family-wise. I hope to clear the list before I go away on holiday but adding any more names now would mean those people may not be getting bunnies until mid-July onwards which in my opinion is too long to ask people to wait. I will of course continue to make them and when I have some available after everyone on the list has their rabbit, I will either open the list again or pop them into my Etsy shop. I do hope you all understand but family life is getting a little busy at the moment. There will of course always be rabbits, I enjoy making them too much, it’s just how I manage it all at the moment.

There are also so many more things I want to make too like the many blankets I have started also the Crochet Club which I was so lucky to win a place in needs caught up with as well!!! The garden is calling me too, sometimes 24 hours in a day just isn’t enough! I also want to try other little animals too like this little lady that I made for a lovely friends birthday recently!

Pricilla Collage

This is Pricilla and I had a lot of fun making her!

Thanks again for entering the giveaway and all your support for my bunny venture, I really do appreciate it!

Happy Tuesday! :)

DSCN8957

I occasionally (ok, perhaps a little more than occasionally) treat myself to a little crafty online shopping, for myself and as gifts for others too and as my luck in giveaways seems to have improved I also receive some lovely handmade goodies in the post as well.

Today I thought I would share some of the beautiful things which have recently dropped through my letterbox, so to speak and also give you some ‘lovely links’ so you too can go and have a look for yourself!

The first photo shows some delicious yarn which I bought recently from Black Sheep Wools for bunny making.

Block Collage

The maker of these sweet little blocks probably needs no introduction to you as you will have seen her lovely makes here and all over blogland before, she is of course the talented Fee from Chipper Nelly. When I saw that she was making Peter Rabbit blocks for Easter I couldn’t resist, being a huge fan of the naughty little rabbit. You can find Fee’s shop here.

DSCN8614

My friend had a birthday recently and as I had bought her a new bag I thought it would be nice for her to have a matching bag charm so I commissioned my lovely blog friend Jane to make her one. I wanted to include the colours in the bag plus as she loves to sew and paint I wanted those represented as well and the gorgeous bag charm above is what Jane came up with. Beautiful, isn’t it. I think I’m correct in saying Jane loves the challenge of a commission, you can find her shop here, she creates wonderful cards too.

DSCN8974

As mentioned above my luck in giveaways has improved somewhat lately and these pretty hairclips are the result of a giveaway by the lovely Anne who has just recently started a blog, you can find more of her beautiful hairclips here. Thank you so much Anne, they are really pretty!

DSCN8893

When I spotted this cute little brooch on Julia Laing’s Facebook page I just had to have it, I really can’t let any green rabbits go past me!!! You can find Julia’s blog here and her shop here.

DSCN8961

Last but not by any stretch of the imagination least is this very beautiful little bunny whose name is Aileen and has been made by the extremely talented Julie of Little Cotton Rabbits. Julie’s bunnies are so highly sought after that you have to enter a draw for the chance to buy them, hundreds and hundreds of people want to own one and guess what I won the draw to buy Aileen, I couldn’t believe my luck!!! She is so pretty, I love her!
Just in my last post I celebrated my 4th bloggiversary and it was through Julie’s little bunnies that I actually got into blogging at all. I followed a link in a magazine when I spotted her bunnies and ended up on her blog, at that time I didn’t even know what a blog was and then one thing led to another and I started blogging myself. Julie’s blog is still one of my very favourite blogs and I always look forward to a post from her and to see her lovely little knitted creatures.

Speaking of my bloggiversary, thank you all so much for your kind words, my goodness so many entries in the giveaway which by the way is still open until Easter Sunday and you can find here if you haven’t already entered it.

I also want to thank all the thoughtful people who have contacted me about the awful weather we have been having and to check if I was ok. Thankfully we got off quite lightly compared to other parts of the province, some actually not overly far from us. We’re in a valley and close to a huge inland lough and I think that has helped protect us from the worst of the weather, we didn’t even lose power like so many other places. So we count ourselves very lucky indeed. My heart goes out to all those people who have been affected and especially to all those poor little stranded animals, who I hope will be rescued soon!

We actually have sunshine today but it is still bitterly cold, so if you don’t actually go outside it does look like spring.

Thank you all so much for dropping by, happy Tuesday! :)

DSCN8948a

Hi everyone, it’s a special day here at Green Rabbit Designs as today this little blog is four!!!

I can’t believe it’s four, time does fly when you’re having fun.

So by way of a little celebration and as promised last week, I’m having a giveaway and the little lady who you can see above is up for grabs, if you would like to give her a home!

Posie Collage

Her name is Posie and she is named after the little posies on her skirt. Her skirt and cardie are a lovely lavender blue and she has a pretty little sparkley flower button on her cardigan.

If you would like to win Posie there are three ways to do so and you can enter all three ways to give yourself some extra chances.

Firstly for one entry all you have to do is leave a comment on this post, you can if you wish follow my blog by email or through NetworkedBlogs both on my sidebar but it is not necessary to do so.

For a second entry you can either mention the giveaway on your blog or put a link on your sidebar, you can use the photo above to do so if you wish. If you do this, then please come back and tell me in another separate comment.

Then for a third entry, if you are on Facebook there is a post on my page about the giveaway which if you ‘like’ AND share gets you another chance, you must however come back here and let me know you have done so in another comment.

It is very important that if you do all three, you leave three separate comments as I will be using the Random Number Generator and you don’t want to miss a chance.

I’m keeping the giveaway open until midnight Easter Sunday, 31st March!

DSCN8956a

Can I just thank you all so much for visiting me here, especially you loyal friends out there who are here every post. I so appreciate your visits, comments, support and encouragement. I have made some lovely friends through blogging, whose friendship I really value.

Here’s to another year of Green Rabbit Designs! :)

Have a lovely weekend and the less said about this dreadful weather the better!!!

Thank you, the giveaway is now closed!

DSCN8783

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Not being the most romantic person in the world, Valentine’s Day usually means sweets and chocolates to me rather than love. What with Pancake Tuesday and Valentines Day all falling in the one week this year it has been quite a treat filled few days!!!

I must say though I did receive some of my favourite perfume from my Hb!

DSCN8804

What a lovely day it is today after what has been a quite grey, wet and cold period, today is bright and the temperature is quite pleasant.

Primrose Collage

My little primula are very happy indeed!

I’m still waiting for some of my garden bulbs to bloom though, I’m sure I had some out before this time last year.

DSCN8789

I was very lucky this week to receive this pretty little brooch which I won in a giveaway. It was made by the talented Claire Garland from Dot Pebbles! If you love little knitted animals and toys you’ll love Claire’s blog, I have actually been very lucky on Claire’s blog because a few weeks back I was also lucky enough to win this beautiful pattern too. Claire has written quite a few books which you can find here. You can also find her here, here and here.

I’m fortunate in that as my name begins with ‘V’ it means I can wear my little brooch all year round and not just on Valentine’s Day!

Aimee Collage

I’ve finished my fourth and final Valentine girl, for this year anyway.

Her name is Aimee which is from the French je-taime (I love you) and means beloved friend, quite appropriate don’t you think.

DSCN8807

Well, as I started with some sweeties for Valentines Day, I thought I’d finish with some too!!

Have a lovely rest-of-the-week and a wonderful weekend, thanks as always for all your visits and encouraging comments!

And again Happy Valentine’s Day !!! :)

DSCN8546

I love it when we reach this day of the year, the Winter Solstice, it’s so hopeful. I know that tomorrow there is going to be a little more daylight than there was today. I know that we probably won’t notice it just yet but the fact that it will happen is just enough to make me happy. Changes are already happening, little flowers are coming out, bulbs are pushing through and I even saw some buds on a tree today, so all wonderfully hopeful!!!

DSCN8517

As this is my last post before Christmas I thought we would do a little catching up with what I’ve been up to. I’m still bunny making, this little lady is Misty, it was lovely making the Christmas bunnies but it was nice to move on to less festive ones again.

DSCN8526

I’ve been a very lucky girl again and have won another lovely giveaway, this time from Sally. Thanks to Sally for a very generous parcel of goodies!!!

DSCN8529 DSCN8533
DSCN8548 DSCN8535

I have also received some lovely gifts and cards from bloggy friends, I just love the friendship that exists in blogland! Thanks to Simone, Mia, Jane and Gill!!!

DSCN8525

I’ve also given myself a little gift, I’m calling it my salary from Green Rabbit Designs for the year!!! I’m beyond excited about this little baby!

Tree decoration Collage

Lastly just a collection of our tree decorations, some of them almost as old as me and some just new this year, exactly how a collection of Christmas decorations should be, I think.

DSCN8510

So here we are almost at Christmas Day, I think this has been the quickest year ever and certainly December has flown by.
I want to thank all of you lovely people for visiting me here and for leaving all your lovely comments, post after post. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with those you love.

Wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas and all the peace of the season!
I’ll see you all on the other side!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :)

DSCN8404

I finished two more girls this week and they’re already on their way to their new family.

This is Hope and she’s a lovely Christmas red, the photo doesn’t really show her true colour, my browser actually makes her look a bit pink! Her cardigan has a touch of cashmere and a faux fur collar and she has a cotton skirt covered in little berries.

DSCN8408

This is Hope’s sister and her name is Joy. Joy is made with white mohair and wears a little silver merino cardigan and a skirt with little parcels all over it in blue and silver.

I liked the fact that they went off on their journey together!

DSCN8417

My giveaway ended last night and this morning I popped the numbers into the random number generator and the number chosen was number 9 and the ninth comment was from lovely Margaret a regular visitor to my blog and who does the most amazing stitching, so the goodies will be winging their way to sunny Spain, lucky them!!! Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway and for all your lovely comments and support, it’s all much appreciated.

DSCN8418

The Christmas tree is now up and we’re all a-twinkle here in the Green Rabbit warren. This is one of my tree decorations, you didn’t think that there wouldn’t be a rabbit (or two, or more) on my tree now, did you. ;)

Happy weekend everyone, thanks for dropping by! :)

DSCN8397

Today’s post is my 300th, I really can’t quite believe that I’ve been having a chat with you here 300 times!!!! It did take me a while to get going but now I couldn’t imagine not having this little place.

This morning when I checked my Facebook page I also noticed that I’d just received my 300th like as well, so it’s definitely been a day for the number 300. It also took me a while to get into Facebook but now I love it too.

DSCN8388

So to mark my two ’300 occasions’ I have decided to have a little giveaway. My last few giveaways have been secret ones but this time I thought I would do it the normal way. Up for grabs are a merino wool and faux pearl crocheted brooch, a 2013 handbag diary and a little tin bird Christmas tree decoration. To win all you have to do is leave a comment on this post, you can if you wish follow my blog using the little widget on my sidebar and/or ‘like’ my Facebook page but it is not at all necessary to do either to enter the giveaway. I’ll keep the giveaway open until midnight (GMT) Thursday 6th December and announce the winner next Friday, it’s open to everyone, everywhere!

DSCN8390

I’d like to thank all of you who visit me here and on Facebook, I really appreciate your visits. I’ve made so many lovely friends through blogging. So thank you all so much!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend and happy December!!!!! :)

*** This giveaway is now closed, thank you! ***

I can’t believe we are the end of another week, where on earth do they go to!!! I managed to get out for a look around the garden this morning for the first time this week, as it has been another dull, damp and dismal one. There is still amazingly a bit of colour out there!!

I still have some cosmos in bloom and there are many little buds on the plants but I doubt if they’ll make it to flowers at this late stage of the year.

This geranium is flowering it’s little heart out, it has however been moved inside the greenhouse now to protect it from the weather. Although we haven’t yet had any frosts worth talking about! Our November weather really has been damp and strangely mild at times.

I had a bit of fortune this week when I received an email from the lovely Jooles of Sew Sweet Violet to tell me I had won her generous giveaway of Sarah Raven narcissi bulbs. The bulbs arrived during the week, 45 in all, with three different varieties. Thank you so much Jooles and Sarah Raven.

Now all I need is a sunny day to get out into the garden and get them all planted. I also have some more tidying to do as some bedding now needs removed and other plants need cut back. It’s not easy gardening in November!!!

I have spent the time when I could have been in the garden this week doing a bit of knitting and crocheting …….

I finished the little bag I showed you in my last post and ……….

I also made another little cardigan for a new bunny that is in the making at the moment.

So not completely unproductive but I do miss the time spent in the garden, fingers crossed for better gardening weather next week.

Thanks as always for dropping by and have a lovely weekend! :)

I really can’t believe we’re at the end of yet another month and that 10 months of this year have passed already!!!!
We are however and today is Halloween, time for all things spooky. We don’t really do spooky in our house but there are a few pumpkins about and some little autumnal decorations, the little hedgehog in the above photo is from a pattern by Julie of Little Cotton Rabbits which you can find here. We also have nuts and sweets for the Trick-or-Treaters and we’ll have a Halloween pudding later as well.

Next year I’m definitely going to try and grow pumpkins especially a white one as I have seen white pumpkins on so many blogs and I want one!!
Growing and gardening is pretty much over for this year with just a bit more tidying to do as plants come to an end. I did manage to get my tulips planted this week, so I’m looking forward to the time of year when they’ll appear.

As gardening time is reduced, crocheting time has increased and I had a lovely little crochet commission this week which you can see below.

Crocheted Mistletoe

Poppy Red Crocheted Brooch

Crocheted Coloured Acorns

The above Berry Brooch was part of one of my secret giveaways. A couple of posts ago my comment total reached 5000, I had been keeping an eye on it to see who my 5000th commenter would be as I had planned a little giveaway to mark the occasion and the person was the lovely Simone from Linden Grove! So Simone won the brooch plus a little pincushion and a set of needles, the sort you would have found in your granny’s sewing basket which I bought from the gorgeous Avoca shop. Simone has been a very loyal blogging friend over the years.

Well as you can see I’ve been playing around in PicMonkey again! :)

I need to stop ‘playing’ now though as I have an Halloween pudding to make, apple sponge I think, with custard of course!!

Happy Halloween!!! :)
