We had quite a severe frost last night and as a result of it many plants are now past their best. The upside of last nights’ clear skys was a lovely, clear and bright but very cold day. So I took the opportunity to do a bit of garden tidying.
I started in the greenhouse and picked the last of my mini peppers, which will go nicely in a stir fry.
I then gathered the last green tomatoes and cleared away all the old tomato plants. My greenhouse looks very bare now!
On the upside my sweetpeas are all planted for next summer and I have to admit I find that a very uplifting thought! ๐
There’s always a cat friend or two or even three to lend a hand when you’re busy in the garden! ๐
It’s quite strange that my sycamore tree is almost stripped of all its leaves yet the leaves on my cherry tree haven’t even changed colour yet let alone fallen off.
Well the greenhouse, flowerbeds and pots have been tidied and there’s only a few plants still hanging on but a few more frosts will probably put paid to them. The garden has definitely slowed down but at least I have these little beauties to look at through the window on the not-so-nice days.
Finally, a little peek at my next bag which has an autumn garden theme!
Have a great week everyone! ๐

I can’t wait for my garden plans next year .. winter is the time to dream for gardens in the spring ๐

When I first saw those peppers, I thought they were jalapeรฑos. It’s living in the US southwest, that made me think that. I would love to find some green tomatoes for some fried green tomatoes. Yum.
I love those pansies in your window box.
That bit of knitting looks interesting.

There is something very satisfying in getting the garden sorted ready for winter isn’t there and especially in having some sweet peas ready for next year – very heartening. Love the new bag – is that fabric going to be the lining? Can’t wait to see the finished article!

That was our plan yesterday, but we got somewhat distracted with the clear blue skies.
Have a lovely day,

How organised are you?
Your pink Cyclamen looks beautiful – I’ve got a similar coloured one sitting on my bedroom windowsill.

It’s so good to know you’ve got the garden tidied up for winter, isn’t it, especially when you have planted next year’s sweet peas and have them to look forward to. The winter pansies and cyclamen look absolutely gorgeous together. Is that an autumn leafy bag you’re knitting – it’s looking rather lovely?! Have a great day.

I love the changing seasons Vivienne, there is always something new around the corner. Yummy peppers there too! Like you I always have a pot or 2 of bedding just to remind me of the flowers that are lacking at this time of year and lurking inside are my bulbs ready for next spring! Billy sends a purr to your cat friends ;0)
Have a great week,

I have yet to do my green house. Over the years it has become a ‘shed’, but I’m determined to make it pay next year. Sweet peas are just lovely, so I will start now with mine. usually it is after Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration and the sneeky peek at the bag!
