autumn days

DSCN0468

I love it when autumn behaves itself, our weather was very good over the weekend, we were very lucky to escape the storm that hit southern and eastern parts of the UK. So far this week it has remained lovely, I actually managed a bit of gardening today planting a few bulbs for spring and transplanting some plants that I grew from seed for next summer. I love being outside and the sun shining on me while I work is wonderful.

The garden is in that in-between stage, the sunflowers are finished but the cosmos is still blooming, little chrysanthemums are unfurling while the only bit left of my black-eyed susan are the black eyes. However the good weather makes keeping on top of the garden easy, as well as soothing my soul!!

Strangely, even though I’m enjoying the autumn (while it behaves), I am preparing for the next season around the corner, which is completely out of character for me as I’m usually a bit bah-humbug!!! (I do hope you haven’t fainted Jane)

Maybe its due to the number of folk wanting a Festive Bunny!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone, thanks for dropping by! 🙂

  1. another lovely autumnal day today, after the storms of last night. I love the cyclamen and the plant whose name I can’t remember.
And guess what, I was lucky enough to get some Orla Kiely bedding in TK Maxx. A good start to the winter!

  2. I’m loving the contrast here between the bright colours of the autumn leaves and the softer tones the garden flowers take on in late October … gorgeous 🙂

  3. It’s looking nicer over your way than here, suffering from the grey soggy days now! Happy festive bunny making 🙂 x

  4. Ah, looks like you may have been bitten by the Christmas bug…best not to fight it, just give in, let go of the bah humbugs, and enjoy the holiday season! I bet the little festive bunnies will carry you through with smiles! 😉 Chrissie x

  5. Lovely colours and photos..look forward to seeing your next set of Bunnies.

  6. Your garden looks better now than mine did all summer! Oh well, there is always next year. I like the fact that all that remains of the black eyed susans is the black eyes! I am sure people would like a bunny all year round and not just for Christmas!!! x

  7. Yay! So glad everyone wants a festive bunny. I’m not really looking forward to winter but it has been a beautiful autumn around here 🙂

I planted bulbs this weekend too! As much as I love Autumn and Winter, there’s something very special about those first flowers popping their noses up in the Spring. Can’t wait to see who will be wearing those wonderful little Christmas dresses!

  9. Whose legs are those?????
Lovely to see that blue sky, and there appears to be lots of colour in your garden still. I’m lucky that all our hedges, and most of our trees are evergreen, otherwise the garden would look extremely bare. Though I wish the rain would stop so that I could plant a bit of colour in there too.
So excited about meeting your new Xmas bunnies :0)

  13. Having just got up from the floor having fallen over with shock I am delighted to see some festive crafting in the house of the Green Rabbit…tee hee. Your trees look glorious in the sunshine Vivienne, the sun does indeed sooth the soul (and so does Christmas….LOLOL). Enjoy the sunshine and your lovely garden, Jane x
