We have had yet another beautiful spring day here, yesterday was a bit chilly and wet and quite breezy but today we are back to spring sunshine.
The rose above is not blooming in my garden I hasten to add but it is one of a bunch brightening up my living room and has been for about three weeks now. Roses are beautiful until the very end, don’t you think.
There are however plenty of new flowers blooming in my garden. I’m always surprised by the little primula which pop up every spring, I always buy new ones each year, after they bloom they then die back back and get forgotten about until next spring when they come back good as new.
The grape hyacinths are peeping through now too all over the place, again I always forget where I have put them until they appear.
I love scilla, on a day without sunshine they almost light up, so pretty, of course I prefer to view them on a day with sunshine.
I’ll leave you with the latest bunny in the spring/Easter batch, this is Aries, a little pink girl covered in lambs!!
Thank you so much to everyone who has commented on my giveaway post, my goodness so many entries, I’m going to need a very big hat, you all have been so lovely with your comments. If you still haven’t put your name down for the giveaway you can find it here, its open until Friday!
Happy Tuesday!!! 🙂

My little blog is five today!
I can’t believe it, it really seems no time at all since the beginning, yet in a funny way it seems like I have been blogging forever.
I have met so many lovely people through blogging, some of them really good friends now.
Thank you to all you lovely people who drop in here to visit my little space of blogland and leave such kind and encouraging comments, some of you are here every time I post!
There is a section of my WordPress stats that gives me a list of the top seven people who have left the most comments in the last 1000 comments and it’s always the same people, you know who you are, thank you so much for being there.
So to thank you all for joining me here at GRD, I thought it was time for a little giveaway!
I’d like you all to met Verdi, her name comes from the French for green and as she is a little green rabbit and is going to be a giveaway prize for the Green Rabbit blog, I thought her name was a good choice.
If you would like to a chance to win Verdi all you have to do is follow my blog and leave a comment, if you already follow then just leave a comment.
If you would like a second chance then either share the giveaway on your blog using any of the photos in this post or like and share the post on Facebook or Tweet about the giveaway and then come back and leave me another comment telling me you have done so. You can of course do all of these things but it’s just worth one more chance, not everybody has all of these social media and so it keeps it fair.
So you can have two goes at winning her if you wish!
I should point out that Verdi is not a toy and not suitable for children under the age of fourteen.
I’m going to keep the giveaway open until Friday 28th March, midnight GMT.
Thanks again for making my little blog worthwhile!!!
Happy weekend my friends! 🙂
*** The giveaway is now closed, thank you! ***

Well as I’m sure as you all know today was St Patrick’s Day and as it’s a bank holiday here in N.I. my hubby had the day off, so we decided to take a little day trip. My daughter was off too so she came with us, unfortunately my poor son-in-law had to work!
We took a drive to a little place called Whitehead, as you can see they like to paint their homes nice bright colours.
Whitehead is quite close to a very good fabric shop which is where my daughter and I disappeared to after our picnic lunch, my Hb set off along the coast with his camera while we were away, so it was a win, win situation!!
The sky was a bit overcast today but the sun did manage to break through from time to time and it was dry and mild.
At times it was clear enough to see Scotland, if you look along the horizon in the above photo you can just about see it!
So all in all a lovely day out (and yes I did buy more fabric!!).
I’ll leave you with my new springtime bunny, this is Jemima! Thank you all so much for your lovely comments about Beatrix, my last bunny, you are all so kind!
Wishing you all a fabulous new week! 🙂

Oh my what a beautiful week it has been, lots and lots of spring sunshine!!
I walked into town one day, via ‘my park’ and I have to say the park is looking beautiful in the sunshine, lots of long tree shadows.
Lots of little crocuses around trees, blue skies and green grass. Actually some of that green grass above is the cricket green, you can just see the pavilion in the background in the top left photo, it won’t be long until the cricketers are out there playing in their whites, another good sign for happy sunshiny days.
I took this photo in my craftroom on Wednesday morning of the sun streaming in through the window.
The garden is looking good in the sunshine too, the flowering currant is about to bloom, there are still lots of daffodils and bursting buds everywhere! The bottom photo is my dicentra and you can almost watch it grow!!
I’m still working at my springtime bunnies, this is the second one who I have named Beatrix after the best bunny author ever! She has a Peter Rabbit fabric skirt and a blue cardie the colour of Peter’s jacket which is fastened with a cute little bunny button.
The blocks, by the way, are by the clever Chipper Nelly.
It will be two years on Saturday since I made my first little bunny, Lavender Rose and Beatrix is bunny number 94, that turned out well, didn’t it!! 😉
I do hope, if you’re in the northern hemisphere, that you too have been getting some spring sunshine, it does feel good. Fingers crossed that it continues into the weekend.
Thanks for dropping by, I do appreciate your visits and lovely comments.
Happy weekend! 🙂
March 9, 2014
Today was my daughter’s birthday and I made her a special bunny for the occasion!
Paris is her favourite city, so it was easy to pick the theme.
She was in Paris a couple of weeks ago with her work but she can’t wait to get back there again.
We have had a wonderful day together, after a beautiful lunch in a lovely restaurant, we went back to her and her hubby’s house for tea and birthday cake (it’s all we could fit in)!!
Happy birthday sweetheart!!! 🙂

Pretty little violas, you just have to love them!
They’re like beautiful little faces looking up at you.
They take us through the autumn and winter brightening up the garden, they’re there to bring life to our springtime borders and pots and they keep going right on to summer.
Dependable and gorgeous!!!
They’re very inspiring too, meet my first springtime girl…….Viola, of course!
The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the garden is coming to life…it’s spring!!
Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments.
Happy weekend! 🙂
