My garden is full of nasturtiums at the moment, just as an August garden should be.
Such joyful little flowers and so many different shades all from one packet of seeds.
I was delighted one day last week when I found some nasturtium print fabric, so a nasturtium bunny had to made.
I’ve named her August after the month she was ‘born’ in!

Your bunny is lovely as always. We have loads of nasturtiums too but ours were self seeded from last year – they are so colourful and I use them in salads and I have tried pickling some of the seeds as they are meant to be like capers but they are not ready yet. Not that I have ever used capers so shan’t know whether they are a suitable substitute or not!

So pretty, Vivienne. I love the contrast of the blue yarn and the fabric. Will have to ask my Aunt and Dad if they are growing nasturtiums in their gardens!!
Happy late August……

I wish my Nasturtiums looked as good as yours Vivienne. Mine started out well, though now it looks like something has killed them off :0(
Seeing beautiful August bunny has brought some sunshine to Solihull this very wet Tuesday morning – it’s been raining here for days. When will it ever stop!!
Hope it’s sunnier where you are.

Your post today made me very nostalgic. I associate nasturtiums with my childhood and haven’t seen them around much since. This bunny is my absolute favourite of any you’ve ever made.

Hello Vivienne,
Lovely girl that August! I, as color-nut, love the orange&blue together, strikingly beautiful, and that dress is also fantastic, great fabric-find! Your garden seems to be blooming, enjoy!
Have a wonderful last (!!) week of August!

I wasn’t a fan of nasturtiums when I was younger, but these days I LOVE them and your photos are fab, as is ‘August’. I know I often say this, but I love how you find inspiration for your bunnies then follow the theme through in the clothing and details, it certainly puts yours apart and gives them a very special edge.
