March 2015

DSCN3267

I am enjoying these days leading up to Easter, as a chocoholic bunny lover it is my very favourite time of year!

I’ve been doing a bit of Easter decorating and my garden is putting on it’s Easter show.

Some nice weather would be good though, March is definitely going out like a lion!

Thanks as always for visiting and for all your lovely comments.

I hope you all have a great week and a lovely start to April.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!

Eat lots of chocolate, it’s the law at Easter! 😉

Rachel Collage

So here we are, fast approaching the end of yet another month and very, very close to Easter, my most favourite time of year!

Of course the end of the month means another set on bunnies ready for my shop.

First up is Rachel, her name means ‘lamb’ and as the fields are full of gorgeous little lambs at the moment, it was a good way to get the Spring Girls under way.

Pollyanna Collage

Potting up some primula for spring was the inspiration behind Pollyanna, her name comes from ‘polyanthus’, another name for primula.

Cerelia Collage

Spring wouldn’t be spring without a few chickens and this little one, named Cerelia which means ‘of the spring’ has lots of them!

Crocus Collage

With her blues and golds and floral dress, Crocus is everything a little crocus should be.

Lulu Collage

Lulu is a ‘bunny’ bunny and her name from Native American origins means ‘rabbit’.

Yolanda Collage

Another sign of spring is the arrival of violets and Yolanda whose name means ‘violet’ represents these pretty little springtime flowers.

Pascale Collage

The seventh and final Spring Girl is Pascale, her name means ‘born at Easter’ and this chocolate bunny has lots of Easter eggs all over her.

All the Spring Girls will be listed in my Etsy shop tonight, Wednesday 24th March, at 10.00 pm (GMT). More details about them can be found here, please remember they are collectible items only and not suitable for children under 14 years.

Remember too that my giveaway is still open until midnight on Sunday 29th March, if you haven’t already joined in for a chance to win Dora, you can do so here.

Happy Wednesday! 🙂

It’s my blog’s birthday today, it is now six years old !

It’s one of those situations which seems like a long time and a short time all at the same time.

DSCN3228

I’ve made many friends through blogging, lots of lovely people who even if there was no blog at all would now still be my friends. There are many of you who drop by here every post and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for that.

WordPress have a section in my stats where they list the top seven commenters out of the last 1000 comments and its always the same seven lovely people, many, many thanks to Mia, Ali, Elizabeth (no blog but a lovely ex-pat now living in Australia), Jane, Simone, Anne and Helen.

Of course it’s not just about the comments but thank you so much lovely ladies, I do appreciate your loyalty and support and if you have commented at all on my blog or hit the like button or have just stopped by to have a look thank you too for your interest.

DSCN3230

I have to be honest, I have struggled with my blog over the past year, last summer I almost brought it to an end, the general stats make for very sorry reading indeed and the reality is that compared to my other social media sites the blog is sadly in decline. I sometimes feel it has run it’s course and there is nothing new. More people visit my Facebook page in an afternoon than visit my blog in a month. It takes a lot more time to write a blog post and upload photos than it does to post on Facebook or Instagram and I feel that what I do now lends itself better to Facebook and Instagram than it does to blogging.

However I am still here and for the time being will remain so, I suppose it was hard to let go, although my posts don’t happen so much anymore and you will find me on my other sites much more often.

I have sort of rained on my own parade but I just felt that I needed to say all of that.

We are however celebrating six years of Green Rabbit Designs and in true blogiversary style I’m having a giveaway.

This little girl is Dora, her name means ‘a gift’ which is exactly what she is!

For one entry into the giveaway, follow my blog by email (there is a link on my sidebar) and leave a comment below.

For a second entry pop over to my Facebook page, like my page, like the post about Dora and share the giveaway and then come back here and leave me a comment telling me you have done so, you are welcome to leave a comment on the Facebook post but only comments left here will be included in the giveaway.

And those seven lovely blog friends mentioned above, you all have an extra entry each!

Please note that if your name is picked by the random number generator I will check that you do follow the blog by email or that you have completed all the Facebook tasks. There is no such thing as a free lunch or bunny in this case! 😉

The giveaway closes midnight (BST) next Sunday 29th March 2015!

Thanks for dropping by, have a lovely new spring week, British Summer Time is almost here!! 🙂

My garden is gradually coming to life again and that makes me very happy.

There are lots of little crocuses, daffodils, pansies, violas, wallflower and primula in bloom now and my tulips and bluebells are pushing their way through.

Trees and shrubs are in bud….all is good! 🙂

Crocuses are such pretty little flowers, especially when you look at them close up and as is the case with all flowers, inspiring too!

DSCN3207

Meet Crocus enjoying some sunshine in my garden, her little dress is covered in blue and yellow crocuses.

By the way I looked up the plural of crocus just to be sure and apparently it can be either crocuses or croci, although crocuses seems quite clumsy, croci seems a bit strange, so I went with the former.

DSCN3208

Today is actually the third anniversary of my first little rabbit, Lavender Rose (Happy Birthday Lavender Rose) and Crocus is bunny number 176.

I can’t quite believe it myself and I could never have imagined back then what that first little rabbit would lead to but I have had a lot of fun creating all those little individual characters and I still have so many more to make, so I’m not stopping anytime soon!!

Thank you so much to all of you who have given one of my bunnies a home, some of you more than one and that pleases me no end knowing that you like them so much that you come back for more!

Mothers Day pressies Collage

It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK today and I would like to wish all you mothers and those who fulfil the roll of a mother a very Happy Mother’s Day, I hope you all have been completely spoiled!

I’ve been a very lucky girl with lots of lovely gifts from my HB, son, daughter and son-in-law, I thought I’d share a couple with you.

My children bought me the gorgeous sheep cushion, on one side it has a lovely woolly sheep and on the reverse, balls of wool and knitting needles, I love it.

I was also thrilled to receive a lovely DollyBird Art print from my husband, I have admired Eimear’s work for a while now and have been a follower of her on Facebook and Instagram. Do take a look at her work, she is very talented.

Thanks as always for popping by, happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day!! 🙂

DSCN3145

I’ve been planting little primula this week, it was good to refresh my window boxes and add a bit of spring colour.

Mind you, one morning the poor little things were covered in snow and I had to brush it off their little petals, thankfully though that has now passed and the temperatures have gone up a bit.

I love looking out at these little bursts of colour.

The flowers have inspired my new bunny too, the fabric on her dress reminds me so much of primula and as another name for primula is polyanthus, she has been named Pollyanna!

So a busy family weekend lies ahead, as it’s my daughter’s birthday next Monday she and I and some friends are heading to Glasgow for the day on Saturday for a little shopping trip. My son is also home from Berlin until Tuesday and we are all going out for lunch on Sunday to celebrate my daughters birthday followed by a birthday tea, with cake of course, on Monday evening.

Thanks as always for visiting and thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my February Girls, they are all off to pastures new now!

Have a good end-of-the-week and happy weekend! 🙂 xxx
