This burst of yellow is an antidote to all that white out there in blogland today and comes from my lovely bunch of daffodils that have been brightening up my living room this weekend.

I think this little corner of the UK got off quite lightly with snowfall. It did snow on Friday evening and the quiz we were to go was called off, as is always the case here when a few flakes fall everything gets cancelled but by Saturday morning the snow has disappeared almost everywhere.

My son’s birthday got well and truly celebrated and a good time was had by all, snow definitely didn’t stop play!

no snow Collage

Just to prove that I’m telling the truth about having no snow, these photos were taken in my garden this morning.

Even though we’ve had little snow it has been cold and has definitely been crochet by the fire time, I even gave the park a miss this weekend but bunny making did take place instead.

Now as I type this, flakes of snow are falling but we did have a bit of rain this morning and the ground is quite wet so it’s disappearing as soon as it lands. Hopefully it will continue to do so because this IS pre~spring and there is NO place for any white stuff!!!

Happy new week everyone! 🙂

Teatime Tilly 2 Collage a

Meet my new little girl ~ Teatime Tilly!

Tilly so enjoys her tea made in a warmed teapot with tea leaves and served in a china cup and saucer! No teabags or mugs for her!!!

Another week almost gone and more than halfway through the first month of 2013!

We have a full weekend ahead, we have a table quiz tonight (must look up the capital city of Outer Mongolia).

It’s my son’s birthday tomorrow ~ happy birthday Stuart! We have a meal out planned for tomorrow evening (Italian, my favourite) and we’re having a birthday lunch with birthday cake on Sunday! He’s been in Berlin all week, my kids like to make their birthday celebrations last for a week!!!! 🙂

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and be careful in that snow if you have some, it hasn’t arrived here yet despite the threats. It’s actually wet and windy here, I’m hoping it’s going to pass us by!

Enjoy your weekend and thanks as always for dropping by! 🙂

*** edited ~ we now have snow!!! 😦 ***

There’s a lot of talk about the changing season at the moment. I have to admit there is a September nip in the air in the mornings and the evenings but oh my what glorious weather we have had this week!! It’s well into the twenties today, sunny and hot and much better than most mid-summer days!!

Certainly the garden still thinks it’s summer, in fact it probably thinks summer has just arrived!!!

Well that’s until I look under my tree………..

Perhaps autumn’s not that far away, although according to the Green Rabbit Calender it doesn’t start until 1st October! 😉

One thing I know for certain that has arrived is my birthday, another year older but I’m not bothered by that, not when there’s lots of lovely pressies on the go to ease the pain!!! Thanks to all my lovely family and friends for all the beautiful gifts I have received, thanks also to my dear bloggy friends for their cards and presents too, you know who you are you lovely people!!

I’m spending the evening with my family which is exactly the best way to spend my birthday.

Happy weekend everyone, thanks for stopping by!!! 🙂

Yesterday afternoon we paid a visit to the world famous Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest working whiskey distillery in Ireland.

And what was our reason for visiting this facinating destination?

Well this time it wasn’t to do the tour and whiskey tasting (I have to say though, Bushmills are extremely generous with their free samples;))

No this time we were there for ‘Bushmills Live’, a music festival celebrating local music.

So not only was there homegrown whiskey but homegrown talent too!

Of course if we’re talking homegrown talent, that means General Fiasco were most definitely there! 🙂

Some more local talent that some of you who are into your popular music might recognise ~ Snow Patrol! I have to say they were amazing!!! Thanks go to my OH for the band photos, my little camera couldn’t cope with smoke machines and strange lighting.

Can I just say that I’m not sponsored by Bushmills Distillery or the Northern Ireland Tourist Board just proud of our local talent and industrial history!

It really was a lovely evening out and although overcast it did stay dry which is more than I can say for today! It looks like late autumn outside. I heard on the radio today that we are to get the equivalent of 2 months rain in the next 3 weeks!! I do hope they’ve got that one wrong!

Wishing you all a great weekend. 🙂

This evening the Olympic Flame reached Belfast on it’s tour around the UK.

The crowds turned out to welcome it! 🙂

There was a huge cheer as the caldron was lit! (Sorry about the photo quality, everyone one wanted a pic)

And if all that wasn’t enough, we had General Fiasco (only the best band in the country) entertaining the crowd!!

Proud Mum?? Always! 🙂

In the past couple of weeks I have been very fortunate in receiving many lovely things including gifts from family and friends, giveaway wins and little gifts to myself!

I received some beautiful gifts from my husband, son and daughter for Mother’s Day and I’d like to thank all three of them very much for being so kind! There were some sweets too but they didn’t make it to the photographs!!!

Recently the postman delivered this gorgeous covered notebook to me, it was a gift from my lovely friend Pam. Pam covered the notebook in a beautiful rabbit print fabric in a colour that is very dear to my heart! Check out Pam’s lovely creations here and here.
Thank you so much Pam, I love it! 🙂

One day when reading my bloggy friend Jane’s blog, I found she had just listed this beautiful bag charm in her shop and I immediately had to have it. In fact I bought it so quickly Jane actually wondered where it had disappeared to in her listings, I think that maybe she thought she had deleted it when listing it! 🙂

I enter many blog giveaways and there are so many beautiful items offered by lots of lovely blogs, usually though I’m not lucky enough to win. However when another of my lovely blog friends Mia had a recent giveaway, I was one of the lucky winners and was very fortunate to win this beautiful felted pouch. Isn’t it gorgeous, go have a look here to see Mia’s other lovely creations!
Thank you so much Mia! 🙂

Mia recently created a sweet little treasury over on Etsy called Run Rabbit Run Rabbit. Now everyone knows my love for these little creatures and when I spotted this pretty little brooch I couldn’t resist and it had to be mine! It was from Silk Purse, Sow’s Ear and they have other rabbity items too (oh dear!!!).

I came by this absolutley gorgeous little block via a giveaway too over on Annie’s blog. Unfortunately though I didn’t win this giveaway but I had to have my block anyway. The prize was to design your own block (colour and word) and then the very, very clever Fee from Chipper Nelly would make it for you. I had chosen a green block with ‘rabbit’ on it for obvious reasons and I contacted Fee and arranged for her to make it for me.

It arrived beautifully wrapped with it’s own pretty little bunny tag! You can find more of Fee’s lovely blocks in her ‘Not on the High Street’ shop and check out her Flickr photosteam for more beauties!

Finally I have to warn you I am now in full Easter mode, I just couldn’t not buy this pretty green glass egg on Saturday, I do love this time of year! ‘C’ seems to go on for about 4 months a year but Easter just goes by in a flash, I want it to go slowly so I can enjoy it all the more!

So as you can see I have been a very lucky girl of late. I have given you lots of links today so why don’t you have a look, maybe spoil yourselves, you know you deserve it! 🙂

It really is like summertime here today, hope you all are enjoying this sunny springtime Monday.

Have a good week, thanks for stopping by and if you haven’t done so already don’t forget to put your name in the hat for my giveaway! 🙂

Hi everyone, just popping in to wish you all a lovely weekend, it seems it’s going to be a mild one here in the UK.

I also want to share what I have been crocheting this week, a variety of crocheted roses in a lovely lavender shade of yarn.

I have made a group of three little roses, a big rose and a rolled rose with a little leaf.

I also added a beaded organza centre to one and made a tiny beaded butterfly too!

We also have a birthday here today, my daughter is 24 today!! So happy birthday Lyndsey!!! xxx
We’re off for a family meal tonight and we’re off to look at some wedding dresses this afternoon too!

Have a wonderful weekend, hope it’s sunny and springlike for everyone! 🙂

Well hello again, I never meant to be away this long but thanks to a very sick laptop being able to join you all in blogland came to a very abrupt standstill! It all seems to be going ok again but it took a while to get it all sorted out, even getting my photos on this afternoon was a mission as everything has changed and I’m not very good at change I’m afraid. It’s so good to be back again though, I have missed my blogging, it felt like all my friends were at a party and I hadn’t been invited, I felt a bit left out!!

So what have I been up to in my absence, well I’m still at my spring cleaning but that is so boring I’m not even going to talk about it. I have been doing a little crochet, some little flowers have been made for a little idea I have for my shop. I hope to do a shop update in February after my 15% off sale which is still on until the end of January.

I’ve been doing a little shopping too! I bought a lovely piece of Orla Kiely fabric which I intend to use in one of my bags and I also purchased one of Beth’s gorgeous lavender birds. Have a look at the The Linen Cat shop to see all Beth’s lovely creations.

I love this little spring corner of my living room and the scent of lavender everytime I walk past the little bird is wonderful.

I’m still keeping an eye on the sky for Annie’s project. This photo was taken last Monday afternoon.

I’ve also managed to finish the front of my cushion I just need to get it blocked. It’s a Kaffe Fasset pattern which I got as a kit a few years back as a gift from Rowan International for renewing my membership. It lay in a drawer until a couple of weeks ago when I decided to give it a go!

The downside to the project is the endless ends which need sewn in, I think I’ll have to leave them for a day when I’m really in the mood for sewing!!

And finally we have had a birthday in the family this week. It was my son’s birthday yesterday and we celebrated with a lovely Thai meal last night.

So there you have it my week without the internet! Strangely I thought I would have managed to get more done without the distraction of the world wide web which just goes to prove that I don’t waste time on my computer afterall (perhaps I would have got less cleaning and sorting done though) !! 😉

Have a lovely weekend, it is nice to be back at the party! 🙂

Well I hope like us you all have had a lovely Christmas!

Probably like us you’ve had too many of these!!

I received some beautiful presents, as did everyone in our house, resulting in this ……….

………. huge pile of wrapping paper! You’ll be pleased to know it has all been recycled now!

Boxing Day saw our up-to-that-point quiet Christmas very quickly take a different direction. When our daughter phoned from Paris (the trip was her present from her boyfriend) to announce that they were engaged. They flew out out on Boxing Day afternoon and they return home tomorrow (Thursday) evening, then I’ll be able to get a good look at the ring which I’ve only seen from an iPhone photograph but looks absolutely gorgeous. So I think busy times are ahead!!!

Before I go I just want to let you know that I’m having a little sale over in my shop! There is 15% off everything, just enter ‘WINTERSALE’ at the checkpoint.

I hope you continue to enjoy what’s left of Christmas and 2011.
Thank you all so much for joining me in my little space of blogland during this past year, I hope to ‘see’ you all again in the new year!

I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year!

Here’s to 2012 and the Springtime (whoo hoo)! 🙂

Another bag is finished, this time it’s the raspberry one. It is knitted in an alpaca/wool/acrylic mix yarn in a lovely shade of green.

I have lined the bag in a pretty raspberry print fabric and pinned the raspberry corsage on to the front.

August and September are a time of celebration in my family. We had my husband’s birthday in August, mine last week and on Monday 12th my husband and I will be married for 30 years! To celebrate our Pearl Anniversary we going on a little trip to Barcelona from Monday to Friday. We are soooo looking forward to it. 🙂

So I will be missing from this little place next week and I thought it would be a good time to have a small giveaway to run over the days I’m away!

I have made a little corsage of Michaelmas Daisies. I don’t have any of these in my garden but I would like some, they are a lovely little burst of colour at this time of year.

So if you would like to win this corsage along with some pretty notecards then all you have to do is leave a comment before midnight (BST) on Sunday 18th September, easy as that! (This giveaway is now closed, thank you)

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and an enjoyable week ahead and I’ll ‘see’ you all soon.
Thanks as always for visiting me here and for all your lovely birthday wishes this week, I really appreciated every single one of them. 🙂
