My garden is gradually coming to life again and that makes me very happy.

There are lots of little crocuses, daffodils, pansies, violas, wallflower and primula in bloom now and my tulips and bluebells are pushing their way through.

Trees and shrubs are in bud….all is good! :)

Crocuses are such pretty little flowers, especially when you look at them close up and as is the case with all flowers, inspiring too!

Meet Crocus enjoying some sunshine in my garden, her little dress is covered in blue and yellow crocuses.

By the way I looked up the plural of crocus just to be sure and apparently it can be either crocuses or croci, although crocuses seems quite clumsy, croci seems a bit strange, so I went with the former.

Today is actually the third anniversary of my first little rabbit, Lavender Rose (Happy Birthday Lavender Rose) and Crocus is bunny number 176.

I can’t quite believe it myself and I could never have imagined back then what that first little rabbit would lead to but I have had a lot of fun creating all those little individual characters and I still have so many more to make, so I’m not stopping anytime soon!!

Thank you so much to all of you who have given one of my bunnies a home, some of you more than one and that pleases me no end knowing that you like them so much that you come back for more!

Mothers Day pressies Collage

It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK today and I would like to wish all you mothers and those who fulfil the roll of a mother a very Happy Mother’s Day, I hope you all have been completely spoiled!

I’ve been a very lucky girl with lots of lovely gifts from my HB, son, daughter and son-in-law, I thought I’d share a couple with you.

My children bought me the gorgeous sheep cushion, on one side it has a lovely woolly sheep and on the reverse, balls of wool and knitting needles, I love it.

I was also thrilled to receive a lovely DollyBird Art print from my husband, I have admired Eimear’s work for a while now and have been a follower of her on Facebook and Instagram. Do take a look at her work, she is very talented.

Thanks as always for popping by, happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day!! :)

I have over the past week or so received some lovely happy mail which I thought I would share with you.

These beautiful vintage French seed labels came from Simply French Vintage.

Aren’t they wonderful, I just love these images!

Having read about this book on a few blogs I decided I would like to read the book itself.

Four Hedges for those of you who haven’t read it is about Clare Leighton who was one of the finest engravers of the twentieth century and about her passion for her garden.

Four hedges Collage

Claire’s illustrations throughout the book are amazing.

A lovely little parcel of fabric dropped onto the mat this week from Celtic Fusions Fabrics, definitely bunny skirt material!!!

This also arrived in the post this week, all the way from Australia from the lovely Elizabeth who last year became the owner of Pixie. She sent me a photo of Pixie with a little koala who has now come to live with me in my craft room. Thank you Elizabeth it was lovely to see Pixie again.

I was very lucky this week to win this beautiful artwork in a giveaway. I had just found My Painted Bear on Facebook and fell in love with Naomi’s art, I then noticed that she was having a giveaway, entered and luckily won. When I emailed Naomi I then found out that she too was from N. Ireland and had actually exhibited work in a gallery in my home town. Naomi’s work is beautiful, you can find her Etsy shop here and her blog here. Thank you Naomi.

Now this pretty little bunny just arrived yesterday, isn’t she gorgeous? She is made by the very talented and clever Farrell & Holmes, I defy you not be tempted when you take a look at their website. The bunny is stuffed with lavender and I could smell it as the postman handed the package over to me. You can also find details of their work on their Facebook page.

Country Living Collage

Thank you all so much for your comments on my last post, all of the February Girls are heading off to their new homes. My next lot of bunnies are going to have a Spring/Easter theme which I’m really looking forward to.

I’ll leave you with these little tete-a-tete daffodils from my garden, according to the Green Rabbit Calendar tomorrow is the beginning of ‘real’ spring……happy, happy days!

Have a great weekend! :)

I hope, like us, you all had a wonderful Christmas and here we all are in the bit in between, always a strange time I think, neither one thing or the other. Truth be told I am looking forward to a shiny new year but in the meantime there will no doubt be more chocolate eating until we get there.

I thought I’d share a little bit of my Christmas with you today!

Daisy and Buttercup Collage

The above sketches were a gift from my best friend, they are drawings of the two little rabbits I used to have, Buttercup and Daisy, they are such brilliant likenesses of the two of them and the artist that drew them has really captured their little characters. Such a lovely gift but it has reminded me how much I miss those girls!!

Well folks I hope you enjoy the rest of the time in between until 2014 arrives and have a great weekend too! :)

If someone asked me what my least favourite month of the year was, I would say November, it always conjures up images of damp, grey, dismal days.

However I have to say that this year it has got off to an amazing start! The sun was shining into my greenhouse this morning making it look like a summer’s day.

If November continues to produce skies like this one it is definitely going up in my estimation.

The flowers are loving it too!

Every week when I go my greengrocers, I almost always like to come home with a little plant or two or like this morning, three!

I think they’re going to look lovely together in a little pot at my front door.

You can always be sure of an assistant when in the garden, this morning it was the lovely Lily!

hello nov Collage

The beginning of November has also been brightened by some happy mail!

The pretty little pincushion arrived today all the way from Australia from a lovely lady who is now Pixie’s mum! Thank you so much Elizabeth, I love it!

The new Orla Kiely book has also arrived, I’m so looking forward to reading it!

I’m also cracking on with the Christmas bunny making as well which keeps me busy in the evenings because no matter how lovely the days are my goodness it gets dark early now the clocks have changed.

So fingers crossed that November continues in the manner in which it has started.

Happy weekend my friends, thanks as always for visiting, I really appreciate it! :)

I have been a very lucky girl of late as I have managed to win FOUR giveaways!!!

I won one just before I went off on my holidays and then I won a giveaway on the next three consecutive days after the day I returned. Lucky or what ??

The first one is from the very lovely Anne from A bit of this and that from PlumCreek22 Studio. Anne’s giveaway included napkins, notecards and a set of her gorgeous hairpins. You can find more of her beautiful hairpins in her Etsy shop!
Thank you so much Anne for the very lovely gifts!

My second win was from Gina, who writes the inspiring blog Fan My Flame. Gina is a very clever textile artist and I was extremely lucky to win her lovely make up bag which is so beautifully made. You can find more of Gina’s gorgeous makes here.
Thanks so much Gina!

The next giveaway to drop through my letterbox was from my lovely blog friend Jill who writes the blog, I Should Have Listened To My Mother. Jill is always busy crafting, should it be stitching, knitting or sewing. She very kindly sent me four fat quarters of beautiful fabric, nothing quite like getting yummy fabric in the post!
Many thanks Jill!

And lastly but certainly by no means least this lovely package of goodies arrived from Germany this morning from the lovely Karen of Katie-Claire’s Cottage. Karen writes a lovely blog about her family life in the Rhine Valley in Germany and about her beautiful creations. She sent me a lovely inspiring German magazine which is full of beautiful things and one of her amazing little owls, who is now adoring my craft room. She also sent some delicious chocolate, half of which you see in the photo is now gone…ooops!! You can see more of Karen’s pretty creations here and here.
Thanks so much Karen!

Now I have given you quite a few links here today but please do go and visit these very talented ladies, you won’t be disappointed, I promise you!

Thank you all so much lovely ladies for your beautiful giveaways, they are very much appreciated and enjoyed!

So a happy new week to you all, it’s grey and wet here today but I’m ever hopeful of crisp autumn days!
Thanks as always for dropping by! :)

I occasionally (ok, perhaps a little more than occasionally) treat myself to a little crafty online shopping, for myself and as gifts for others too and as my luck in giveaways seems to have improved I also receive some lovely handmade goodies in the post as well.

Today I thought I would share some of the beautiful things which have recently dropped through my letterbox, so to speak and also give you some ‘lovely links’ so you too can go and have a look for yourself!

The first photo shows some delicious yarn which I bought recently from Black Sheep Wools for bunny making.

Block Collage

The maker of these sweet little blocks probably needs no introduction to you as you will have seen her lovely makes here and all over blogland before, she is of course the talented Fee from Chipper Nelly. When I saw that she was making Peter Rabbit blocks for Easter I couldn’t resist, being a huge fan of the naughty little rabbit. You can find Fee’s shop here.

My friend had a birthday recently and as I had bought her a new bag I thought it would be nice for her to have a matching bag charm so I commissioned my lovely blog friend Jane to make her one. I wanted to include the colours in the bag plus as she loves to sew and paint I wanted those represented as well and the gorgeous bag charm above is what Jane came up with. Beautiful, isn’t it. I think I’m correct in saying Jane loves the challenge of a commission, you can find her shop here, she creates wonderful cards too.

As mentioned above my luck in giveaways has improved somewhat lately and these pretty hairclips are the result of a giveaway by the lovely Anne who has just recently started a blog, you can find more of her beautiful hairclips here. Thank you so much Anne, they are really pretty!

When I spotted this cute little brooch on Julia Laing’s Facebook page I just had to have it, I really can’t let any green rabbits go past me!!! You can find Julia’s blog here and her shop here.

Last but not by any stretch of the imagination least is this very beautiful little bunny whose name is Aileen and has been made by the extremely talented Julie of Little Cotton Rabbits. Julie’s bunnies are so highly sought after that you have to enter a draw for the chance to buy them, hundreds and hundreds of people want to own one and guess what I won the draw to buy Aileen, I couldn’t believe my luck!!! She is so pretty, I love her!
Just in my last post I celebrated my 4th bloggiversary and it was through Julie’s little bunnies that I actually got into blogging at all. I followed a link in a magazine when I spotted her bunnies and ended up on her blog, at that time I didn’t even know what a blog was and then one thing led to another and I started blogging myself. Julie’s blog is still one of my very favourite blogs and I always look forward to a post from her and to see her lovely little knitted creatures.

Speaking of my bloggiversary, thank you all so much for your kind words, my goodness so many entries in the giveaway which by the way is still open until Easter Sunday and you can find here if you haven’t already entered it.

I also want to thank all the thoughtful people who have contacted me about the awful weather we have been having and to check if I was ok. Thankfully we got off quite lightly compared to other parts of the province, some actually not overly far from us. We’re in a valley and close to a huge inland lough and I think that has helped protect us from the worst of the weather, we didn’t even lose power like so many other places. So we count ourselves very lucky indeed. My heart goes out to all those people who have been affected and especially to all those poor little stranded animals, who I hope will be rescued soon!

We actually have sunshine today but it is still bitterly cold, so if you don’t actually go outside it does look like spring.

Thank you all so much for dropping by, happy Tuesday! :)

I love it when we reach this day of the year, the Winter Solstice, it’s so hopeful. I know that tomorrow there is going to be a little more daylight than there was today. I know that we probably won’t notice it just yet but the fact that it will happen is just enough to make me happy. Changes are already happening, little flowers are coming out, bulbs are pushing through and I even saw some buds on a tree today, so all wonderfully hopeful!!!

As this is my last post before Christmas I thought we would do a little catching up with what I’ve been up to. I’m still bunny making, this little lady is Misty, it was lovely making the Christmas bunnies but it was nice to move on to less festive ones again.

I’ve been a very lucky girl again and have won another lovely giveaway, this time from Sally. Thanks to Sally for a very generous parcel of goodies!!!

DSCN8529 DSCN8533
DSCN8548 DSCN8535

I have also received some lovely gifts and cards from bloggy friends, I just love the friendship that exists in blogland! Thanks to Simone, Mia, Jane and Gill!!!

I’ve also given myself a little gift, I’m calling it my salary from Green Rabbit Designs for the year!!! I’m beyond excited about this little baby!

Tree decoration Collage

Lastly just a collection of our tree decorations, some of them almost as old as me and some just new this year, exactly how a collection of Christmas decorations should be, I think.

So here we are almost at Christmas Day, I think this has been the quickest year ever and certainly December has flown by.
I want to thank all of you lovely people for visiting me here and for leaving all your lovely comments, post after post. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with those you love.

Wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas and all the peace of the season!
I’ll see you all on the other side!
