Honesty Collage

Hello everyone, lovely to back with you all again after my little jaunt to France although I am missing the beautiful Côte d’Azur sunshine!

I will share some of my holiday with you soon but I thought I had better drop by today with my May Girls who are going to be listed in my Etsy shop tomorrow night.

I have shared little Honesty with you before in a previous post, my first lop bunny was named after the beautiful honesty which is still blooming in my garden.

Bloom Collage

With the countryside and gardens everywhere springing into life this little floral girl has been named Bloom!

Maia Collage

After the lovely response to my first little Dutch bunny, I’ve made another one, this is Maia, to the Romans, Maia was the goddess of spring, after whom they named the month of May.

Mary Collage

This little one is Mary as in…Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow! This gardening girl has little watering cans, spades and rakes all over her dress and lots of flowers everywhere including a row of beaded flowers all around her cardie.

Leigh Collage

The final May Girl is Leigh whose name means ‘meadow’. Leigh has a wildflower meadow all over her dress and her cardie is fastened by a beautiful yellow poppy.

So that’s all the bunnies for another month, they will all be listed in my Etsy shop tomorrow, Wednesday 27th May at 10pm (BST). More details about them can be found here, please remember they are collectible items only and not suitable for children under 14 years.

Have a wonderful Tuesday and I will be back soon with some photos of France! :)

The bluebells are out in my garden too, not native ones but lovely all the same.

DSCN3425

I have strawberries-in-the-making.

And lots of other pretties too!

I’m so glad I got to see the bluebells in bloom before I go off on my holidays tomorrow, I know that by the time I get back they will all be over for another year…so pretty but so brief.

Something else that has been growing over the past couple of weeks……

DSCN3450

…..the May Girls!

So my friends I will ‘see’ you all soon, take care, I’ll still be on Instagram if you wish to keep up with me!

à bientôt :)

DSCN3390

I love how the garden evolves throughout spring, the daffodils are almost over now and sad as it was to see them go, it is time for the tulips to take centre stage and boy do they do it in style!

DSCN3385

I just love the centre of this tulip!

DSCN3392

One of the last remaining daffodils.

DSCN3388

DSCN3389

It is of course forget-me-not time, how on earth could we forget these little beauties?

DSCN3394

The violas are one of the plants that just keep going from late winter right through spring, they seem to have got their second wind at the moment.

DSCN3405

This a new acquisition, I just couldn’t resist it, the florets are about 9 cm across, it is very beautiful.

DSCN3386

DSCN3398

This beauty is honesty, I grew it from seed and it is ever so pretty, in fact so pretty that it inspired my new bunny!

DSCN3413

Meet Honesty, she is my very first lop bunny and she has lots of pretty little white flowers on her dress and cardie just like the gorgeous honesty in my garden.

DSCN3414

So here we are at the beginning of what I think is the loveliest month of the year, May is so green and lush and pretty.

Thanks as always for popping by, have a wonderful weekend and a fantastic May! :)

Avril Collage

It’s bunny time again, I know I’m slightly earlier than usual this month with my rabbits but don’t the months just fly by!

This is Avril which is of course French for April and seems very appropriate for the first of the April Girls!

Dottie Collage

Monochrome was the theme for the second April Girl, with the obvious name of Dottie.

Sugar Collage

This little girl is Sugar and she takes her name from the lovely fabric collection Milk, Sugar and Flower by the talented Elea Lutz. I think the fabric in Sugar’s dress is probably my most favourite fabric ever.

Lacey Collage

With lace doilies all over her dress, a cardie with some knitted lace and two buttons with lace patterns this little one couldn’t be named anything else but Lacey.

Jay Collage

This little teal bunny is Jay and with bluebirds on her dress and a bluebird on her cardie, she just had to be named after a bluebird!

Daisybelle Collage

For a while I have been keen to make a little Dutch rabbit. I once had a beautiful little Dutch bunny called Daisy, she was the sweetest little thing. Early on in my rabbit making days I made a white Daisy Daydream bunny and as every bunny I make has a different name I couldn’t call this one Daisy in memory of my little bunny, so opted for Daisybelle instead. I think though that there will be more Dutch bunnies, I just love those cute faces.

So that’s all the bunnies for April, they will be listed in my Etsy shop tonight, Wednesday 22nd April at 10pm (BST). More details about them can be found here, please remember they are collectible items only and not suitable for children under 14 years.

Just before I go I want to share the lovely parcel which arrived for me recently in the post. I was extremely lucky to win some beautiful gifts in Helen’s recent giveaway. The sweetest little beaded birds in my favourite colour, a selection of gorgeous buttons and some delicious chocolate, all perfect and very ‘me’! Helen and I have been blog friends for quite a while now, her blog is an absolute treat and so inspiring. Thank you so much Helen for my gifts I am so thrilled with them. I’m sure you all have visited Helen’s blog but if not please go and pay her visit you certainly won’t be disappointed. http://www.helenphilipps.blogspot.co.uk

As always thank you all so much for your visits and lovely comments.

Enjoy the rest of your week! :)

Spring wouldn’t be spring without a ‘blossom and blue sky’ photo, would it!

If you look closely I even managed to capture a jet too.

DSCN3361

There is a ‘tag’ doing the rounds on Instagram at the moment where you are asked to give twenty facts about yourself so that everyone finds out a little more about you.

Having taken part in it on IG I thought it might be fun to share it here on the blog too.

Apologies to any blog friends who are also IG friends and have heard it all before.

DSCN3369

All the photos in this post are of what has been going on in my garden and craft room today.

Thanks as always for dropping by and for all your much appreciated comments, enjoy the rest of your week! :)

DSCN3283

In my last post I hoped for better weather, well my wish came true, we really couldn’t have had better weather for Easter and with my Hb off for the week we made the most of our days.

DSCN3281

After a lovely lunch out on Easter Sunday we headed to Hillborough Forest park for a walk, where nature was beginning to wake up.

DSCN3289

DSCN3287

We took a walk around the historic village of Hillsborough too, this is the Queen’s official residence in Northern Ireland.

DSCN3304

Divis Mountain, the highest peak in the Belfast Hills was our destination on another day out.

DSCN3296

And as you can see we made to the summit (that makes it sound like Everest!), not too hard really and the thought of the flask of tea and the chocolate Easter egg in my Hb’s backpack to enjoy at the top, spurred us me on!!

DSCN3297

The views of Belfast city from the top of Divis are pretty amazing!

DSCN3299

If you’ve ever flown into Belfast International Airport you will flown round behind this mountain and if you’ve never flown into Belfast International, then why not???? Come and visit us, it’s lovely here and we’re very friendly! :)

DSCN3317

On another daytrip we drove through Carrickfergus on our way to Whitehead, Carrickfergus has a brilliant Norman castle.

DSCN3316

Belfast Lough looked almost Mediterranean on that day!!

DSCN3318

In Whitehead they like to paint their houses pretty colours, some bright and ………………

DSCN3320

……………….some pastel.

DSCN3321

This is Portmore Nature Reserve which is run by the RSPB, it was on the BBC’s Countryfile programme a few weeks back where they featured Irish Hares which are flourishing there. We thought we would pay them a visit in the hope of seeing some. Sadly not, the hares live beyond the lapwings breeding area and no one was getting anywhere near that at this time of year and rightly so, I would have liked to have seen the hares though.

DSCN3326

On the way back from Portmore we drove around the shore of Lough Neagh, the grasses were very pretty in the sunshine.

DSCN3329

DSCN3314

DSCN3312

The gorgeous weather has meant some garden time too which has been great.

DSCN3290

DSCN3327

There have even been opportunities for some stash enhancement over the past week too because you know how it is, I have very little yarn! ;)

DSCN3332

And of course I have made time for some bunny making as well, with a start made on the April Girls.

All in all it has been a lovely Easter with temperatures reaching 20 degrees C on most days, my favourite time of year was certainly everything I hoped it would be.

Rachel Collage

So here we are, fast approaching the end of yet another month and very, very close to Easter, my most favourite time of year!

Of course the end of the month means another set on bunnies ready for my shop.

First up is Rachel, her name means ‘lamb’ and as the fields are full of gorgeous little lambs at the moment, it was a good way to get the Spring Girls under way.

Pollyanna Collage

Potting up some primula for spring was the inspiration behind Pollyanna, her name comes from ‘polyanthus’, another name for primula.

Cerelia Collage

Spring wouldn’t be spring without a few chickens and this little one, named Cerelia which means ‘of the spring’ has lots of them!

Crocus Collage

With her blues and golds and floral dress, Crocus is everything a little crocus should be.

Lulu Collage

Lulu is a ‘bunny’ bunny and her name from Native American origins means ‘rabbit’.

Yolanda Collage

Another sign of spring is the arrival of violets and Yolanda whose name means ‘violet’ represents these pretty little springtime flowers.

Pascale Collage

The seventh and final Spring Girl is Pascale, her name means ‘born at Easter’ and this chocolate bunny has lots of Easter eggs all over her.

All the Spring Girls will be listed in my Etsy shop tonight, Wednesday 24th March, at 10.00 pm (GMT). More details about them can be found here, please remember they are collectible items only and not suitable for children under 14 years.

Remember too that my giveaway is still open until midnight on Sunday 29th March, if you haven’t already joined in for a chance to win Dora, you can do so here.

Happy Wednesday! :)
